GMP+Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) is a fully-fledged certification scheme to guarantee animal feed safety and sustainability in all links of the feed chain, including the suppliers of raw materials. GMP+ is an international scheme for the purpose of continual improvement and control of animal feed safety in the whole supply chain, from the production of raw materials through to end line production facilities. GMP+ is a world wide leader with 12,000 participants in 65 countries. The emphasis is placed on hygiene in the production phase. The standards define clear conditions relating to production facilities and manufacturing methods. There are diverse GMP standards that are issued by different organisations and branch organisations. These are principally formulated for producers in the primary sector, such as in agriculture and the animal feed sector. |
