About Pavo Podo®Lac muesli
Developing healthy bones is crucial for a horse's health and performance, something serious breeders are all too aware of. Nutrition plays an essential role here and it already starts while the mare is still pregnant! With Pavo Podo®Lac Muesli you optimally support the mare during gestation and lactation and, therefore, also the unborn foal.
It all starts with the mare
Normally the mare’s milk contains too little copper and zinc to supply the foal with the required amounts. These are, amongst other things, necessary for the healthy development of bones, organs, the coat and digestive processes. Therefore, it is of great importance to increase the supply in the last three months of gestation, so that the unborn foal can build up a reserve supply via the umbilical cord. In the first three months of life, this supply then gradually becomes available and the foal can use it for healthy development. Pavo Podo®Lac Muesli contains all the important nutrients for both the mare and the unborn foal.
Pavo's Podo® concept
Pavo has always done a lot of research into the ideal feed for the breeding world and from here the Pavo Podo concept was developed. The Podo concept is an unique complex minerals and trace elements that is scientifically proven to decrease the probability of developing OC(D) in young horses by 50%. Even though the foal is not yet born, the Podo® concept will support the growing foal with all the required nutrients during this crucial period when the bones are developing.
Protein & energy
Additionally, sufficient energy and proteins are very important during the gestation and lactation period. Pavo Podo®Lac Muesli contains a high amount of energy originating from the unique and highly valuable energy source rice bran, complemented with soyabean oil and linseed oil. As high quality protein sources, soyabean meal and soyabean flakes have been added. The combination of the high fat content and high amount of quality protein ensure that the mare maintains a healthy body condition during pregnancy and lactation. Moreover, the high amount of quality proteins in Pavo Podo®Lac Muesli also support milk production and are of particular importance for good development of the unborn foal.

Tip!
If you feed less than the recommended amount, add half a dose of Pavo Podo®Care to make sure the mare & foal receive all the nutrients they need. Pavo Podo®Care is also a great alternative for Pavo Podo®Lac should the mare be overweight. By feeding Podo®Care you don’t feed additional energy but still provide the mare and foal with all the necessary nutrients for a healthy development.
Please note that the daily intake of this product by the horse should never exceed 0,95 kg / 100 kg body weight.
